With the NHS no longer allowing the prescribing of certain medications for minor illnesses, there are now a number of medications available to buy over the counter.
Mometasone nasal spray (Nasonex) is a steroid nasal spray.
It is used to prevent and relieve symptoms of sneezing, running, stuffy, or an itchy nose caused by hay fever or other allergies.
It is also used to treat nasal polyps (swelling of the lining of the nose).
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) recently announced that Mometasone nasal spray is now available over the counter under the name 'CLARINAZE'.
Clarinaze is available at your local pharmacy at the pharmacy counter or it can be ordered in by the dispensary team.
It is not suitable for use by children under the age of 18!!
Always let your pharmacy team know if you are taking any other medication as Clarinase may not be suitable.
